ABOUT THE TEACHER
Chris Trew is co-founder of The New Movement, an improv theater and conservatory based in Austin, Tx and New Orleans, La. He’s the co-author of Improv Wins, a book focusing on the method practiced at TNM. He’s been teaching and performing improv full time for over 10 years and was named one of “10 comedians you should know” in 2015 by Paper Magazine. His workshops have appeared at dozens of comedy festivals all across the country.

The New Movement’s Language and Philosophies

Learn to work your scenes without the aid of a suggestion from the audience. Discover how to map patterns using only the beginning of the scene. Experience a workshop where each student is guaranteed a plethora of stage time. The New Movement has been aggressively exploring an alternative approach to improv since its inception – this workshop is a peek into what we think makes improv tick.
